How to Create a Binance Account: A Practical Checklist
Want to open a Binance account without missing a step you'll have to fix later? The important part isn't the sign-up button. It's checking availability, referral terms, identity verification and security before you send funds.
Quick answer: Use Binance's official site or app, register with an email or phone number, confirm the verification code, check any referral code before finishing, complete identity verification and turn on two-factor authentication. The available products depend on your country.
Can you use Binance where you live?
Check the official registration page and the terms shown for your country before creating an account. Binance products and onboarding requirements differ by location. Don't use a VPN or somebody else's identity to work around a restriction. If the service isn't available to you, stop here.
Also make sure you're on the genuine Binance domain or its official app-store listing. A search ad or a message from a stranger isn't a reliable way to find a financial account sign-up page. Type the address yourself and bookmark it.
How do you sign up?
- Open the official Binance app or website and choose Sign up.
- Select email, phone, or an available Apple or Google option.
- Enter the one-time code sent to your contact method.
- Set a unique password. Don't reuse your email password.
- If you intend to use a referral link, check that the code is linked before you finish registration.
Binance says a linked referral code can't be changed after registration. That's a small field with a long shelf life, so it's worth one extra look. If there's no code or offer you actually want, skip it. A code isn't required to create the account.
What happens after registration?
Registration and the ability to trade aren't the same thing. Binance says new users need its Verified identity level to access products such as deposits and trading. The app takes you to verification after account creation. You'll typically select your country, enter personal details and submit the requested identity documents. The accepted documents and review flow depend on your location.
✍️ KYC means “Know Your Customer.” Think of it as the identity check a bank asks for before opening full account access. Use your own documents and confirm that the name matches your account details.
Before depositing, set up a second sign-in factor. Binance recommends at least one two-factor authentication method. Consider an authenticator or passkey where offered, and store recovery details somewhere private. Never share a verification code with someone claiming to be support.
What should you check before the first trade?
Start with a small test deposit, and verify the asset and network on both ends. Sending an asset over the wrong network can be costly or irreversible. Then check the market you plan to use: spot fees aren't the same as futures fees, and an instant taker order can cost more than a resting maker order.
For example, a 0.10% spot trading fee on a $1,000 executed order is $1 before any account-specific discount. That's an illustration, not a quote for your account. Your order screen and Binance fee schedule are the places to check the current rate.
What does this mean for you?
The safest first session is boring: verify the official site, register, finish KYC, lock down the account and test a small transfer. You can compare fee-saving arrangements later. TradeBoost has separate guides on trading costs if you want to look at that before choosing where to trade.
Referral fee benefits: Binance's affiliate guide says eligible inviters can share up to 20% of Spot and Margin fees with invitees. Its Futures referral FAQ describes a 10% Futures fee discount for eligible referred users. These are program terms, not proof that this particular link grants both rates or that a Futures discount lasts indefinitely.
TradeBoost signup link: Create a Binance account with referral ID 1049037039. Check the code and exact Spot and Futures benefits shown on Binance before completing registration. A fixed discount percentage has not been verified for this specific link.
